IOS APP
My role: FOUNDER, UX DESIGNER AND DEVELOPER

The challenge:

Ratatouille app is iOS app developed in 24h Hackathon challenge.

Ratatouille helps you find someone who'll be happy to take your extra food. Share your fridge with others, find what you need or give away what you don't need. No waste, no stress.

Insights:

People are aware they want to improve in enviromental choices, but they haven't simple tool to reinforce a good behaviour.

THE IDEA

The idea follow the brief asking for an app that induce more greener behaviour for the citizens.

A lot of young adults cannot manage correctly the amount of food in their houses. They are pushed from food companies marketing to buy a lot of stuff and leaving in the fridges or in the drawers for a big amount of time.

This extra food finish to expire without people noticing it and the only way is to throw it away.

The name was inspired by the French provençal stewed vegetable dish. You can find the original recipe here

The main feature that drive the app is the concept of a geolocalized fridge. The users can find on a map the fridges near you and ask to the owner if they can take the ingredient.
